July Corporate Communion/World Youth Day at Home
Following the conclusion of the canoe trip Sunday, we’ll be meeting as a group for our July Corporate Communion for a special 6 pm mass at Saint Andrews Cathedral in downtown GR (215 Sheldon SE, Grand Rapids). The Diocesan Young Adult Ministry office will host World Youth Day at Home for all young adults (ages 18 or older) beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24 on the Piazza Secchia in Cathedral Square in downtown Grand Rapids. The event will feature a concert by noted World Library Press musician and composer Jorge Rivera, who is also the director of Pastoral Juvenil Hispana for the Archdiocese of Chicago. A $5 donation is requested. The event concludes with 6 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. During the Mass, Very Rev. John J. Geaney, CSP, will offer a special blessing for the young adults who will be making the pilgrimage to the XXVI World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain.
